How to start affiliate marketing without skills or audience for beginners

In this post, I’ll explain how to start affiliate marketing without any skills or an audience and make money online; you just need your phone!

Today, I’ll talk about a method to make money that I used when I was starting to work online and trying to make a living from home. This method is really simple and beginner-friendly, it doesn’t require any skills, and you don’t need to have an audience (a website, YouTube channel, or a following on Instagram, etc…). You only need your phone and a product to promote.

In my opinion, if you want to start working online, you should start with this method because it not only doesn’t require any skill but it gives you a great understanding of what it takes to make money online.

A lot of people think that making money online is easy but it’s actually not and with this method, you’ll understand that it requires hard work, patience, and consistency.

Now, before I introduce you to this method I have to explain affiliate marketing.

So what’s affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing (this is Investopedia’s definition) is an advertising model in which a company compensates third-party publishers to generate traffic or leads to the company’s products and services. The third-party publishers are affiliates, and the commission fee incentivizes them to find ways to promote the company.

So, in a nutshell, affiliate marketing is a business model where you, as an affiliate, promote a product for a company and get a percentage of the sales that you bring to them.

Usually and preferably you have an audience that you promote these products to like a website, a YouTube channel, or a big Instagram account but since this is a beginner-friendly method it doesn’t require any audience or skill.

How to start affiliate marketing without skills or an audience?

In short, you’ll find a product to promote, and then search for people who need this product on Instagram and Twitter, and finally, you’ll approach these people and try to sell your product.

So first, you need to find a product to promote. For this, you can join ClickBank, JVZoo, Amazon Associates, or just type ‘high paying affiliate programs’ in Google and you’ll find tons of products to choose from. (I’ll explain later why you should search for high paying programs)

Now, because you’ll be talking and selling a product to people you should select one that you have some knowledge about or a product that you would use so when you’re trying to sell it you know what to say and how to answer your potential clients.

Do not lie or just try to sell any product to make some quick cash because this route is short and you won’t achieve much. We’re trying to create a source of income so choose a great product that you know a lot about and would personally use.

Now, I recommend you to promote high ticket products (a high ticket product is a high cost or expensive product) and subscription-based services.

Since you’ll be searching for potential clients and messaging them to try and sell your product it’s better to spend your time selling a high ticket product where you make a couple of hundred dollars every sale or a subscription-based service which means that as long as your client is subscribed to that service you’ll get a monthly percentage of his subscription.

Example

Let’s say that you have a 2% sale rate for a $30 product and your commission is $10 per sale (2% sale rate means that you get 2 sales for every 100 people that you approach), that means that you’re making $20 for every 100 people that you approach.

Now if you have a high ticket product, let’s say that the product cost $800 and your commission is $300 per sale and you have a 0.5% sale rate, this means that you’re making $150 for every 100 people that you approach.

On the other hand, if you have a subscription-based service that you’re trying to promote and you make $10 per client. This means that as long as this client is subscribed you’ll get $10 every month. Now if you get 100 clients you’ll make $1,000 per month passively without you having to do any more work.

I hope that from this example you understand why I recommend you to select high ticket products, subscription-based services, and why I told you to search for high paying affiliate programs.

A couple of examples that I used with this method

Now that I explained the method of how to start affiliate marketing without skills or an audience I’ll talk about a couple of examples of how I used this method and was making a decent income from it.

Example of how to start affiliate marketing without skills or an audience:

I first used this method on Twitter. I used to go and search for what people need, so I go and search on Twitter “how to quit smoking?” or “book recommendation” or “I can’t sleep” for example.

And I find some people asking these questions and need recommendations. So I used to I write these questions on a paper until I gather 20 to 25 questions.

Then, I subscribed to Amazon associates and JVZoo and selected 20 to 25 products that would help the people asking the questions (I would get a nice book to recommend for the person who’s asking for a book recommendation, or get a product that would help the person who wants to quit smoking).

Next, every day I would search for the questions that I selected on Twitter and recommend my product for the people I fund. I used to respond to about 300 persons per day, it was hard at first but I got used to it.

Another example:

This example is when I really started making a decent income because the products I was promoting on twitter weren’t high ticket product or subscription-based.

So at the time I was growing/ flipping Instagram pages and I was using an Instagram growth service and it cost from $250 until $900 depending on the plan that you choose and they had an affiliate program where they pay you 20% as a recurring commission for every client you bring.

Let’s say that you bring a client who chooses the $250 monthly subscription, this means that as long as this client is subscribed you’ll get $50 per month as a commission.

At the time I was very happy with this service and was getting great results so I decided to promote it. So I used to search on Instagram for small businesses that are having a problem growing their pages and suggest to them this service.

I used to search for hashtags like “#restaurant or #smallbusiness” then I search in the results for small pages and dm them.

And since I was messaging people who are in need to this service and I knew that the service is great I had a great sale rate and in a couple of months, I had more than 50 clients and was making more than $3,000 passively without even having to dm those clients ever again.

Tips and recommendations

Take your time searching for a great product to promote, if the product you select is bad you won’t get any results.

Don’t copy and paste your messages, instead write unique messages to people and really connect with them. Also, don’t message more than 10 persons per hour on Instagram or they’ll temporarily block you.

Start slow, at first start with messaging 40 persons per day and when you get used to it increase the number, just don’t quit and keep hustling.

Divide your work throughout the day and don’t try to message everyone at once, for example, try to message 20 persons every 3 hours (adjust this number as you see fit)

Be patient. At the beginning of this post, I said that this method is great for beginners because it gives a great understanding of what it takes to start generating money online. You’ll message hundreds of people before starting to make a decent income.

This method is great to start with if your goal is to achieve financial freedom. You can start affiliate marketing without any skills or an audience, and get some cash flow to fund the project that you want to start in order to achieve financial freedom without having to touch your main income or just use it to generate a side income.

And the best thing is that you can do this from anywhere just take your phone and message people.
